Allerthorpe Farm Stud was established in 2000 by Michael Dawson OBE. After a successful
business career in a range of industries, he turned his attention to equestrian sports principally
as the owner of several well-known race horses.
His interest in breeding sports horses was inspired by his ownership of Cabri D'Elle, a successful and well known stallion who represented Great Britain on many occasions as a member of the Nations Cup Team. Mike realised there was a need for British-bred sports horses and set about building bloodlines using both natural means of reproduction as well as Artificial Insemination and Embryo Transfer.

The inspirational and much loved Cabri D'Elle
Allerthorpe Farm Stud now boasts a team of very competitive home-bred show jumpers with a stable ranging from foals to six year olds. Our most successful horse to date is the mare Sorceress who won the Best Five Year Old British-Bred Award for 2008.

We aim to build on these achievements and have very ambitious plans for the future of Allerthorpe Farm Stud and look forward to establishing ourselves as a 'jewel in the crown' in producing outstanding British show jumpers.
