Mick Wood Allerthorpe Stud Farm Manager Mick Wood manages the Stud with a professional down to earth,
hands on approach. Having joined    Allerthorpe in April 2006, he
and his wife Liz live in the farmhouse ensuring that together
with our permanent on site staff, we can provide around the
clock care and attention.
Mick has extensive and enviable knowledge of all aspects of
bloodstock. He rode professionally as a flat race jockey resulting
in excess of 300 winners in the UK and overseas, before retiring
to start his own livery yard business, specialising in breaking
young horses and post operative care. It was during this time that
his association with Mike began. Mick's superb relationships with a wide range of clients including
renowned racehorse trainer Mark Johnston, matched perfectly with Mike Dawson's network of
equestrian contacts and business expertise.

Liz Wood Stud Farm Manager Liz comes from a
farming family and
has been involved
with horses all her
life. Previously she
spent several years
working in the office
of a well known
veterinary practice
before leaving to
assist Mick. She now runs the office at the Stud.
