Mike Dawson founded Allerthorpe Farm Stud in 2000 and is proud to see it becoming one of the most trusted and expert Artificial Insemination and Embryo Transfer equine breeding centres for Sports Horses. As a successful entrepreneur with over 40 years' business experience, he remains Allerthorpe's sole proprietor and brings experience in many fields to his passion for equestrianism. He is a qualified accountant and was appointed OBE in 1986 for services to industry and is a Deputy Lieutenant of North Yorkshire his native County. In 1999 he sold his business interests and turned his energies to horses. His racehorses have enjoyed success at both Group and Listed levels and his show jumpers have represented Great Britain on numerous winning occasions. Over the past seven years, Allerthorpe Farm Stud has bred horses privately for both disciplines. Mike's ambition, working with the best of British bloodstock, is to take the Allerthorpe team's considerable experience and expertise to the outside world and place it firmly on an international stage.
